Usage

This template converts an decimal expression into scientific notation.

e.g. {{scinote|12345}} gives "1.2345×10^⁴"

To round to a given number of significant figures, specify this number as the second unnamed parameter.

e.g. {{scinote|12345|3}} gives "Scinote/Sordomag"

For engineering notation set fn=eng.

e.g. {{scinote|12345|fn=eng}} gives "12.345×10^³"

Trailing zeros are preserved.

e.g. {{scinote|0.001234500}} gives "{{rnd/cExpression error: Unexpected < operatordecExpression error: Unexpected < operator|Expression error: Unexpected < operator|Expression error: Unexpected < operator}}×10^⁻³"
