The Lexus MCX is a Compact SUV Crossover (automobile) to be introduced by Japan automaker Toyota Motor Company as part of the luxury Lexus brand for the 2009 Model year. It may be built at Toyota's new Woodstock, Ontario, Ontario, Canada plant that will build the Toyota RAV4. It will compete with compact luxury crossovers such as the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Infiniti EX, Volvo XC60, Lincoln MKX, Audi Q5, and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class.
The MCX will be based on the Lexus ES and Toyota Camry, or possibly the Toyota Venza, and powered by a 3.5-litre V6 Gasoline engine. With this engine, it is possible that the model will actually be named JX 350 by the time it reaches production. Hybrid vehicle versions are also expected.
